f -biminimal maps between Riemannian manifolds

Yan Zhao, Ximin Liu (2019)

Czechoslovak Mathematical Journal

We give the definition of f -biminimal submanifolds and derive the equation for f -biminimal submanifolds. As an application, we give some examples of f -biminimal manifolds. Finally, we consider f -minimal hypersurfaces in the product space n × 𝕊 1 ( a ) and derive two rigidity theorems.

F -manifolds and integrable systems of hydrodynamic type

Paolo Lorenzoni, Marco Pedroni, Andrea Raimondo (2011)

Archivum Mathematicum

We investigate the role of Hertling-Manin condition on the structure constants of an associative commutative algebra in the theory of integrable systems of hydrodynamic type. In such a framework we introduce the notion of F -manifold with compatible connection generalizing a structure introduced by Manin.

Fano manifolds of degree ten and EPW sextics

Atanas Iliev, Laurent Manivel (2011)

Annales scientifiques de l'École Normale Supérieure

O’Grady showed that certain special sextics in 5 called EPW sextics admit smooth double covers with a holomorphic symplectic structure. We propose another perspective on these symplectic manifolds, by showing that they can be constructed from the Hilbert schemes of conics on Fano fourfolds of degree ten. As applications, we construct families of Lagrangian surfaces in these symplectic fourfolds, and related integrable systems whose fibers are intermediate Jacobians.

Fastest curves and toroidal black holes

E. Woolgar (1997)

Banach Center Publications

We discuss an apparent paradox (and conjectured resolution) of Jacobson and Venkataramani concerning 'temporarily toroidal' black hole horizons, in light of a recent connectivity theorem for spaces of complete causal curves. We do this in a self-contained manner by first reviewing the 'fastest curve argument' which proves this connectivity theorem, and we note that active topological censorship can be derived as a corollary of this argument. We argue that the apparent paradox arises only when one...

Fat bundles and formality

Wojciech Andrzejewski, Aleksy Tralle (1997)

Annales Polonici Mathematici

We prove the formality property of total spaces of fat bundles over compact homogeneous spaces. Some rational homotopy obstructions to fatness are obtained.

Feuilletages conformes
