An extension of Lorentz's almost convergence and applications in Banach spaces

Mercourakis, S., Vassiliadis, G. (2006)

Serdica Mathematical Journal

2000 Mathematics Subject Classification: Primary 40C99, 46B99.We investigate an extension of the almost convergence of G. G. Lorentz requiring that the means of a bounded sequence converge uniformly on a subset M of N. We also present examples of sequences α∈ l∞(N) whose sequences of translates (Tn α)n≥ 0 (where T is the left-shift operator on l∞(N)) satisfy: (a) Tn α, n ≥ 0 generates a subspace E(α) of l∞(N) that is isomorphically embedded into c0 while α is not almost convergent. (b) Tn...

Analytical properties of power series on Levi-Civita fields

Khodr Shamseddine, Martin Berz (2005)

Annales mathématiques Blaise Pascal

A detailed study of power series on the Levi-Civita fields is presented. After reviewing two types of convergence on those fields, including convergence criteria for power series, we study some analytical properties of power series. We show that within their domain of convergence, power series are infinitely often differentiable and re-expandable around any point within the radius of convergence from the origin. Then we study a large class of functions that are given locally by power series and...

Banach and statistical cores of bounded sequences

Cihan Orhan, Şeyhmus Yardimci (2004)

Czechoslovak Mathematical Journal

In this paper, we are mainly concerned with characterizing matrices that map every bounded sequence into one whose Banach core is a subset of the statistical core of the original sequence.

Cesàro wedge and weak Cesàro wedge F K -spaces

H. G. Ince (2002)

Czechoslovak Mathematical Journal

In this paper we deal with Cesàro wedge and weak Cesàro wedge F K -spaces, and give several characterizations. Some applications of these spaces to general summability domains are also studied.
